WAXING
RECOMMENDATIONS:
For kick and glide wax recommendations, go to
SwixSport and click on the "Wax
Wiz" link on the top of the navigation bar on the right hand portion of
the web page. If you use other wax brands other than Swix,
Eagle River
Nordic's website has an easy to use web page recommending what they've
tested and determined are the best wax brands/types for various
temperature, snow, and humidity conditions. You can get the latest and greatest temperature and
relative humidity data to guide your wax selections by viewing the
Creston AGRIMET Weather Observation web page, as this is the
nearest
real-time, online weather observation site to the BCNC site. The
Blacktail Mountain weather station is the best real time weather
data for the Blacktail Nordic Trails. You can also see snow depths
and recent temperatures from the
Blacktail SNOTEL Site.
If you would like some good advice how to wax and prepare your bases for
the conditions,
Sierra Nordic's website has some very good technical tips how to get
the best glide out of your skis.
